Installation consists of three basic steps:

Choose and prepare your database
-
Install Microsoft IIS if it is not already on your computer
-
Run the Mosaic Vivarium installer
Detailed instructions for each of these steps are provided and can be
accomplished by a non-IT person in less than an hour.
If you are an individual wishing to install and test Mosaic Vivarium on
a single computer, or if you are at an Academic or Non-profit organization,
Virtual Chemistry recommends you read the licensing terms to see if you qualify
for the free database versions from
Oracle and
Microsoft. Each of these companies has a version of their database
which can be easily installed by non-database personnel via a simple installer.
