In 1995, after several years working at a commercial chemistry software company, the Virtual Chemistry partners recognized an unmet need for custom scientific software solutions. Commercial scientific software offerings, though often of excellent quality, were only filling part of the needs of a research scientist. It was for this reason that Virtual Chemistry was founded.

Virtual Chemistry has now become an expert in web-based data management. With our powerful Mosaic framework for creating data-rich, "Ajax"-style web pages, Virtual Chemistry can create web-based solutions with a user experience matching that of desktop applications. This framework also serves as the foundation for our suite of pre-clinical data managment applications: Mosaic Vivarium, Mosaic InVivo, and Mosaic PlateAssay.
